Other things to consider are the planets that produce big ships. You may also want to make alter the planets to resemble the ones in ST, though I suspect there is a map editor/map maker in/with the full game. I don't know wich mod this is though, my best guess is that it's the warlord mod featuring Zaarin. However on LF somebody posted that somebody else already has added a race for the demo. I also suggest you split things up, but I don't know to what extend that's possible. You have an awfull lot of ships there, I don't even know if there are enough slots for all the buttons. Special Breen frigate(possibly the 1 from A1)ĭominion Battleship(it looks like the dreadnaught but its smaller and the size of 2 Galaxys (Episode-"Valient")Īny other Hero/Villian ships from A1, A2, SFC3, and BC Shinzon's ship(not the scimitar but some Reman assualt ship of some kind) The K'tinga that Worf was stationed on(I forget the name) Well, this is what I wouldn't mind seeing. Now what I would like for others are all sorts of suggestions, baring in mind a couple of things:ġ) Its not currently know the full capabilities of the complete game so any suggestions are welcome.Ģ) Shiplists and alternative titles, this includes possible hero's as there is a command in the unique shiplist which allows a single hero ship to be constructed. Proposed title for the mod is "Star Trek: Battle for the Alpha Quadrant". The mod will feature as accurate ships as possible and the good news is, XML is the programming language thats needed and the files are very easy to follow. Basically the Rebel side would be replaced by the Federation/Klingon/Romulan Alliance and the Imperial side would be replaced by Dominion/Cardassian/Breen Alliance. The basic premise for the mod is to introduce the dominion war to the game in its entirety. There is some things I've managed to figure out quite alot but I think I would prefer a smallish team to do this job. Now once the model format is worked out, I plan to attempt to add in a new unit or two as a means to experiment. In a few weeks fromt his posting Star Wars: Empire At War is due to be released (the demo is already out). video making even easier.I'm proposing a suggestion to the community. Then all we need is someone to add in a few Trek ships, just to make Poe's vs. Once they do eventually pump out a newer version I'd love to play it multi though. I really love Homeworld but this just seems wonky. It would just make the game make more sense. That seems like it'd keep the different factions feeling fresh and unique without having to cut someone's favorite part of Star Wars out. But there's no reason to have the amazing bloat they have, especially since they are either unwilling or unable to balance them according to usability. Rebels, then New Republic, Dark Empire and such can all be made the same. Imperials don't need all the ships in the world, seriously, just give a good variety based on movie flavor and fill in the gaps with EU materials nicely. Especially if they can land on an enemy ship and capture it. Like, for the Republic, give me a handful of late era Clone War style ships with Venators at the end an a buncha cool fighters. I would, for one, prefer more sides with fewer ships each. But as the actual game, it's unpolished and unplayable, except to goof around and beat the shit outta stuff kinda at random. As a basis for a different game, Warlords is great. If you just want to do some machinama action, though, it's great. There were some earlier threads on this here that I can't find at the moment.Īnother downside is that the 'new version' has been in development forever, which makes me sad. The problem stems from the creator's love of the wanked-out RPG stats and refuses to use anything else as a resource for ship development. As in, 25,000 credits worth of X-Wings is worth orders of magnitude more than 25,000 credits worth of Star Destroyers. Our primary complaint is that the game is that the ships are not balanced dollar for dollar. It's so close to being fun, but isn't quite there.
